June 17 – Financial Times writer Derek Brower featured Footprint CEO Dakota Stormer for an article on the U.S.’s energy transition. Since Stormer’s transition into full-time CEO of Footprint App, Inc., the company has enjoyed steady growth and increased visibility.

Brower wrote at length about how the transition has affected energy production communities from Texas to North Dakota. The article concludes with Houston’s past and future; how the city moved from an oil economy to a model for the energy transition in Corporate America.

“His optimism was something I hadn’t much encountered on the road,” wrote Brower about the Footprint CEO. “He believes the climate strikes movement led by Swedish teen Greta Thunberg has reached — and converted — corporate boardrooms atop Houston’s skyscrapers.”

“It was a surprise,” said Stormer about the article. “I woke up in the morning with messages from my former Shell team members telling me that they saw me in the paper. I was excited to see that the statement I made about boardroom influence resonated with Derek in his investigation.” The Financial Times has an estimated readership of 1 million subscribers.

UNLEASH also recognized Stormer’s achievements with Footprint in an article in which Stormer shared his vision for Footprint and the issues it tackles. “The stories of the most successful entrepreneurs inspire us.”

Stormer recently left his job at Shell to dedicate his time towards growing Footprint App, Inc, the company he started in 2019 to help communities achieve their climate goals. His appearance on the Financial Times and UNLEASH is proof that his and his team’s hard work is being recognized nationally.
